Until the water is re-tested you are advised to stay out of the water at Angle Lake. They usually test it weekly. I received the closure reoprt Tuesday Sept 9th. You can find out about the status by following the links below.
This is the link to find the current status of lake water health. https://kingcounty.gov/en/dept/dnrp/nature-recreation/parks-recreation/king-county-parks/water-recreation/swimming-beach-bacteria-temperature
There are signs at the Angle Lake Park but for those who do not visit the park, you can to receive lake water quality reports by email or texts about which local beaches are closed. Sign up here: https://public.govdelivery.com/accounts/WAKING/signup/40264
I am ordering a test kit so I can test different areas of the lake to determine if the quality is only dangerous near the park.
This year the lake was closed once before. I have not seen lake closures before in my 20 years here. Some discussion has arisen as to the possibility that the low level of the lake may be contributing to this. We plan to discuss at the next ALSC & ALM meetings whether asking people to stop watering their lawns by drawing water from the lake would make a difference. Your thoughts?

Thank you Tani Rae. We have a large and very interested community judging by the Tapas turn out this year. No doubt there are steps all of us can take to keep our precious lake from continuing to drop to an even more dangerous level - which in turn, devalues all of our property. We appreciate you keeping us informed.
Agreed. It would be great if we can, as a community. come up with some ideas when we see what level the lake is after this winter. We have had hotter summers, but never a lake level this dangerously low. It would be better for us to figure it out before the state gets involved.
