Locking Mailbox Program - Begins July 16th

It’s a fact, locking mailboxes help reduce mail theft. However, having the right locking mailbox can effectively eliminate mail theft altogether!

In response to increasing cases of mail theft in our area, the City of SeaTac is launching a neighborhood mailbox program. Locking mailboxes will be available to residents and businesses located within the city boundaries. Owners of single-family residences, duplexes, triplexes and business property owners that have individual mailboxes are eligible to participate in the program. Tenants may also participate with written permission from their landlord.

Mail Boss™ Locking Security Mailboxes will be available through the program at the City’s cost of $108 .00. That’s a savings $51 off the mailbox manufacturer's suggested retail price plus includes free installation. For property owners whose income is below 50 percent of the median (based on HUD Income Guidelines for King County), the cost of the mailbox will be subsidized 50 percent by the City’s Neighborhood Mailbox Replacement Program funds.

About the Mail Boss Brand
Current estimates are that over 300 Mail Boss Locking Security Mailboxes have been installed throughout SeaTac through a prior private effort spearheaded by local resident and current council member Peter Kwon. To date, NONE of these mailboxes have been penetrated, although there is evidence that several have tried.  These mailboxes are constructed from heavy gauge steel and offer proprietary features to prevent ‘fishing’ and lock failures.

The Mail Boss brands reputation as a leader in the locking mailbox industry has been on a meteoric rise lately. Click on the following link to view some of the latest positive independent reports:
