ALSC Derby Reels In Record Crowd

Nearly 200 residents, from infant to near centenarian, gathered along the shores of the Goulet and Kuglar beach properties to witness some of the best competitive fishing Angle Lake has seen in ages!

A total of 60 fish were reeled in for measuring with some being returned to the waters of Angle Lake while others were released to the barbecue to supplement the telling of many fish tales.

I could take this opportunity to share the details of this most successful event; however that information will be captured through the recollections of one of our hosts, Sandy Goulet and will be shared via our next upcoming Club Newsletter. As mentioned previously, this was one of the best attended Derby’s in recent memory. The draw certainly is partly due to our shared interest toward community fellowship; the beautiful natural surroundings of Angle Lake and the opportunity to spend a nice day with family and neighbors we refer to as friends, and their guests.  It also can be attributed to the restaurant quality barbecue cuisine that includes fresh King Salmon served up by our master chef and his assistants. But equally important in drawing crowds to our event is the big Raffle Drawing offering a chance to be chosen as a prize winner from the plethora of prizes provided by our generous commercial contributors!  

I would like to take this opportunity to recognize and express a sincere appreciation to the following businesses for their contributions in making our ALSC Fishing Derby, Barbecue and Raffle a most successful event!

And of course, to the Members of the Angle Lake Shore Club, Residents and Guests who made generous purchases for strings of Raffle Tickets. The proceeds from these sales not only help support this event and the purchase of the additional prizes but also help fund our other events throughout the year.
